Do I need to be VR / a Fellow of the RACGP? What about non-VR doctors and registrars?

No. Non-VR GPs are welcome. You bill WorkCover and CTP work to the insurer (icare NSW, the workers comp insurers, the CTP insurers), not Medicare, so VR status and FRACGP fellowship aren't required. Registrars, IMGs working towards fellowship, and PGY-3+ doctors are all eligible. If you're unsure, send through the form and we'll have a conversation.

What does WorkCover Hub actually do for me?

We take the admin side. Our team books the patient in, explains the claim to them, follows up with the employer and insurer, and keeps the paperwork moving. If your patient needs physio or psychology, we line it up. If your patient disagrees with a decision, we explain the review steps. You do the clinical work.

Is there a cost to join the network?

No. There's no fee to join and no fee per referral, in either direction. You bill the insurer for WorkCover and CTP work as you normally would.

How does referral flow work for network GPs?

We refer patients to network GPs based on suburb, areas of clinical interest, and current capacity. You're not committed to accepting every referral — we'll send through the case and you confirm whether you can take it. If it's outside your scope or you're full, send it back and we'll route to someone else.

Do you take applications from outside NSW?

We refer patients across NSW. If you're an AHPRA-registered GP practising in NSW, we'd like to hear from you. If you're elsewhere in Australia, get in touch anyway — we'd want to know when we expand further.

Who we’re looking for

AHPRA-registered GPs with their own practice in NSW, experience managing WorkCover or CTP cases (or genuine interest in learning), and a clinical standard we’d be comfortable referring patients to. Non-VR GPs are welcome. Areas of interest welcome — psych claims, return-to-work planning, manual-handling injuries, industry-specific exposure. Orthopaedic surgeons who take WorkCover cases can apply through the same form.
