Mental Health Support When You Need It Most

Workplace injuries aren’t always physical. If you’re struggling with stress, anxiety, or trauma after a work incident, our psychologists can help — and it’s covered by WorkCover.

We typically respond within a few hours. Your information is secure.

Emotional Recovery Is Part of Healing

Work injuries affect more than your body — they can impact your confidence, mood, relationships, and overall wellbeing. That's why WorkCover includes psychological support in its treatment plans.

  • Work-related stress or burnout — feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or unable to cope with the demands of your job or your recovery process.
  • Anxiety or depression following injury — persistent worry about your future, loss of motivation, feelings of hopelessness, or withdrawal from activities you used to enjoy.
  • PTSD or emotional trauma — flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance, or avoidance behaviours following a traumatic workplace incident.
  • Difficulty coping with pain or change — struggling to adjust to new physical limitations, chronic pain, or changes to your work and home life.
  • Workplace bullying or harassment — psychological harm caused by ongoing mistreatment, intimidation, or hostile behaviour in the workplace.
  • Sleep disturbances and fatigue — insomnia, broken sleep, or constant tiredness linked to your injury, pain, or psychological distress.
First Session

What to Expect in Your First Session

We understand that seeing a psychologist for the first time can feel daunting. Here's what you can expect — no surprises, no judgement.

A Safe, Confidential Space

Everything you discuss with our psychologist stays between you and your psychologist. Sessions are held in a private, comfortable environment — whether in person or via telehealth. There is absolutely no judgement. Our psychologists are here to listen and support you.

Understanding Your Needs

Your first session focuses on understanding what you're going through. Our psychologist will ask about your injury, how it's affecting you emotionally, your sleep, your relationships, and your day-to-day functioning. This helps them build a clear picture of where you are and what support you need.

Creating a Treatment Plan

Based on your initial assessment, our psychologist will work with you to create a personalised treatment plan. This plan outlines clear goals — whether it's managing anxiety, processing trauma, building coping strategies, or preparing for a return to work. You'll always know what to expect and why.

Our Therapies

Types of Therapy We Offer

Our psychologists use a range of evidence-based therapies, tailored to your individual needs and the nature of your psychological injury.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

The most widely used and researched therapy for anxiety, depression, and stress. CBT helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns that are keeping you stuck.

EMDR for Trauma

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a highly effective treatment for PTSD and trauma. It helps your brain process traumatic memories so they no longer trigger distress.

Stress Management

Practical strategies for managing the day-to-day stress of an injury, a WorkCover claim, and the uncertainty that comes with it. This includes relaxation techniques, mindfulness, and structured problem-solving.

Return-to-Work Support

Psychological preparation for returning to work after an injury. This includes managing anxiety about the workplace, building confidence, and developing strategies to cope with the transition back.

Treatment Length

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Every person's situation is different, and there's no one-size-fits-all answer. As a general guide, WorkCover typically approves an initial block of 6 to 12 sessions.

If you need ongoing support beyond the initial block, our psychologist can request an extension from the insurer with a clinical justification. Many injured workers receive psychological treatment for several months or longer — as long as it's clinically necessary, WorkCover will cover it.

Our psychologists will review your progress regularly and adjust your treatment plan as you improve. The goal is always to get you to a point where you feel strong, confident, and ready to move forward.
